Research shows that dietary omega-3 deficiency in the United States causes between 72,000 and 96,000 preventable deaths each year.

Research conducted at Harvard University in collaboration with the University of Toronto, and jointly funded by the CDC and the Association of Schools of Public Health, found that between 72,000 and 96,000 preventable deaths per year from omega-3s in the United States -Fatty acids are caused by deficiency. The study further showed that dietary omega-3 deficiency is the sixth leading cause of preventable death in the United States. With these findings in mind, Intelligent Labs, based in Florida and Brighton, England, has launched what they believe is the most powerful and effective omega-3 supplement on the market to help reduce these unnecessary deaths.
“It was easy to identify the first product that was released,” said Andy Mobbs, CEO of Intelligent Labs. “The research speaks for itself; We can prevent these deaths with a very high quality supplement if people cannot increase their omega-3 intake through their diet. ”
He continued, “Omega 3 is one of the most researched substances in medical history. Not only is it a leading cause of preventable death, but it also plays a key role in a wide variety of modern health problems – from chronic lifestyle diseases like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease to cognitive and psychological problems like depression. Anxiety and Alzheimer’s. “
There are two main reasons modern Americans are so low on omega-3s. The first is that most eat very little seafood, which was a traditional part of the human diet when we evolved along the coastal areas. Seafood is very high in omega-3s, especially the omega-3 fatty acid DHA, which forms the neurons in the brain and central nervous system. The second reason is that modern diets are high in inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids, which are abundant in the commonly used grains and vegetable oils.
Mobbs explained, “Most people today have an omega 6: omega 3 ratio between 30: 1 and 50: 1 [meaning 30 to 50 times more Omega 6 than Omega 3] when the ratio should actually not be higher than 3-4: 1. Omega 6 and Omega 3 both compete with each other in the same enzymatic pathways, so the omega 3 we get from our diet becomes less effective with all the omega 6 we consume. ”
He added, “All of this leads to chronic inflammation and diseases that are as common as we age in society today. If we prevent our bodies from becoming chronically inflamed, we can stay fit and healthy well into old age. “
Intelligent Labs Omega 3 is made from natural triglycerides, the form of fatty acids found in wild fish. Mobbs stated, “Most of the fish oils on the market aren’t actually fish oils. They have been chemically changed from their natural state to so-called “ethyl esters”, in which the fatty acid is artificially linked to an alcohol structure. These ethyl esters are much less well absorbed by the body and are much less effective in the body. While they can legally be called fish oil, they do not occur naturally, and I urge all consumers to buy only Omega 3, which specifically states that it is made from natural triglycerides. ”
Intelligent Labs Omega 3 contains 1224 mg EPA and 816 mg DHA per serving, the highest of all natural triglyceride formulations on the market. There is also an EPA: DHA ratio of 3: 2 that is preferred by scientists when researching omega-3 benefits.
According to Mobbs, “many manufacturers have a much higher concentration of EPA because EPA is much cheaper to make than DHA, but it is the strength of the DHA content of an omega-3 oil that really tells about its quality.”
Omega 3 isn’t just important for overall health, however. High profile athletes are just beginning to understand the importance of omega 3 intake to peak performance.
“Omega 3 reduces inflammation. Because of this, taking appropriate amounts in our diet or with supplements will greatly reduce recovery time, ”said Mobbs. “In addition, omega 3 also plays an important role in the deformability of red blood cells. This allows the red blood cells that carry oxygen to the muscles to remain flexible as they push through tight gaps in the capillaries, so the muscles can get more oxygen when they get tired, at the point where they need it most need. ”
Mobbs concluded, “The role of DHA in the formation of new brain and CNS cells, and its role in transmitting nerve impulses through the nervous system, are important to athletes as they improve physical intelligence and help the body perform skillfully and coordinated movements improve. In other words: do sports better. “
