AFib is a condition in which your heart beats irregularly, which, as the ESA explains, results in a heartbeat shockingly five times more likely to have a stroke. In addition, the American Heart Association (AHA) notes that AFib can also put you at increased risk of blood clots, heart failure, and other heart problems.
The study also found that omega-3s may increase the risk of developing AFib, especially in people who are already at high risk of heart problems. However, this does not mean that you should never order salmon at a restaurant if you have had heart disease in the past. It just means that taking the supplement on a daily basis can bring some dangers that you may not have considered before, especially if your heart is already at risk. As previous research shows, the supplement may not even be effective at preventing heart disease.
